Being the home city of Gang Of Four, Delta 5 and the Mekons (just to name the first wave), Leeds has a fertile past in wiry, unstable post-punk, and as much as that particular genre has been drained almost completely dry over the last decade and a bit there's still something enthralling about a band who do that sort of thing as spot on as Leodensian trio Autobodies do across debut EP Bodywork - insistently choppy and staccato guitars, seek-and-destroy basslines, off-the-beat drumming, semi-cryptic crossthreaded vocals.
